![Numerous articles in French newspapers and on radio shows, recently, about the dreadful impact of the high school curriculum reformation on mathematics studies. The proportion of students studying maths in the final year went down from 90% to 59%, with only 37% taking maths as their specialty [6 hours per school week]. This impact is even more dire for female students specialising in maths who were close to 50% before the new curriculum and are now down to 38%... This Le Monde article describes the terrible state of high schools, as well as reports an interview with Cédric Villani, who is still defending the proposals he made in 2018 and incorporated in the high school new curriculum... We already start seing the impact of the changes in our undergrad students, whose mathematical abilities have plummeted.](https://i0.wp.com/xianblog.fr/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/1644164405367-e1644164762142.jpg?resize=450%2C599&ssl=1)
