![In its 36 hours in City X, The New York Times has come to Paris. With a rather disappointing choice of über-touristic places. Mentioning Notre-Dame as a visit highlight when it is still under renovation after the 2020 fire. Sending visitors to Montmartre as if there were not enough tourists and tourist traps there, albeit maybe not in the local cemetery. And to the [great] Japanese restaurants of Rue Sainte-Anne, where queues outside are the norm on Saturday evenings. Except for La Vilette area, where I would be reluctant to send unsuspecting tourists except on a busy summer Sunday afternoon, the highlighted spots follow a line in the most classical areas and ignore the arrondissements with real people, like the 12th or the 14th.
