And another outstanding race for the women marathon, with a record time by Netherlands Sifan Hassan, also the winner of 5000m and 10,000m Olympics. Along Femke Bol, they make the Netherlands a giant of athletics!

Superb race, with an Olympic record of 2:06:26 by Ethiopian Tamirat Tola (and the unexpected abandon of Eliud Kipchoge). The steep slopes make the record the more impressive.
