train static

When I travelled to nearby Padova from Venezia, last week, I boarded a completely empty train and contemplated a quiet and profitable ride, with one referee report to deliver. Unfortunately, just prior to departure, a pair of young women came to seat in the same block as I and they started talking together, rather loudly, in French, which I could not but hear and understand. The discussion was about men and their shortcomings…
Je comprends ton souci de ne pas faire des généralités, mais moi ça ne me gêne pas d’en faire.
Globalement, statistiquement, c’est une exception, un mec organisé !
With a rather basic, binary, level of arguments, like the ones above. It kept going till Padova, where I exited the train (and so did they). Two days later, we again, if briefly, crossed paths in Venezia, not far from the (one and famous) hospidale, next to San Francesco della Vigna and its beautiful cloister, with apparently a change in the theme of the conversation! And even more briefly two hours later, near the Biennale gardens. Coincidences!
