Almost a year later, the guide and partner of the deceased climber is charged of negligent (wo)manslaughter. The details are in <a href=”https://www.nytimes.com/2025/12/20/world/europe/austria-hiker-death-mountain-manslaughter.html“>The New York Times. </a> They include the striking items of information that the female climber was wearing snowboarding shoes for a winter climb, carrying a snowboard in addition, and that the male climber did not set up the tent he was carrying to protect her when he went down solo looking for help.
