The Department of Statistics at the University of Warwick is recruiting:
Assistant Professor, Statistics (3 positions in Applied, Methodological or Theoretical Statistics )
Assistant Professor, Computational Statistics or Machine Learning (2 positions)
Associate Professor (1 position, any area within the Department)
Applicants should have evidence or promise of world-class research excellence and ability to deliver high quality teaching across our broad range of degree programmes. At Associate Professor level, applicants should have an outstanding publication record. Other positive indicators include enthusiasm for engagement with other disciplines, within and outside the Department and, at Associate Professor level, a proven ability to secure research funding. Candidates must have earned a PhD degree in Statistics or a related area by the time of appointment, or shortly thereafter, with a demonstrated record of excellence in research and teaching. Experience working with, teaching, or mentoring diverse groups or diverse students is preferred. We seek exceptional candidates whose research and teaching interests complement and strengthen our existing departmental research strengths. Evidence of excellence in teaching will be provided through teaching accomplishments, the teaching dossier including a strong teaching statement, sample course materials, and teaching evaluations, as well as strong letters of reference. The Department of Mathematics and Statistics invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position of Assistant Professor in Statistics and Machine Learning. The successful candidate, depending on his or her expertise and interest, could be nominated for an IVADO Professor position. These positions offer an enhanced start-up funds. The IVADO professors will participate in the ambitious project (IAR3) aimed at the development and adoption of robust, reasoning and responsible artificial intelligence, for which IVADO has just been awarded an Apogée Canada grant. An adequate knowledge of the written and spoken French language or a strong commitment to mastering the proficiency level required must be demonstrated.
